November 21st

I am sorry to say that I don’t have a lot to say about today, but I will give it the old college try.

On this date in 1922, Rebecca L. Felton of Georgia was sworn in as the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.

On this day in 1943 the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, imprisoned and ultimately martyred by the Nazis, wrote in a letter: ‘A prison cell, in which one waits, hopes…and is completely dependent on the fact that the door of freedom has to be opened from the outside, is not a bad picture of Advent.’  Something to think about I suppose as Advent rapidly approaches on November 30th.

On this date in 1977 the Concorde Jet first flew from Paris to New York.  I kinda miss the old bird myself.

Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical,” single goes #1 & stays there for 10 weeks on this day in 1981.  Words Fail Me.

Actress Jena Malone turns 24 today.
