Will, those are wild (non-hybrid) phlox. I had a garden full of them when I lived in KY. I had transplanted them from a roadside just before widening construction began. The wild variety is becoming more difficult to find.
Wow. That’s the shade of purple I want for my flowers. Wild flowers are really beautiful beyond the humdrum.
